Toyota Prado 150 Series
Two Bike Rack Assembly and Tow Bar Mount System for the Prado 150
“Some photos of the iSi bike rack from our weekend adventures. It was brilliant! I can't tell you how many times we accessed the back of the Prado and it came with such ease (even I could do it!).”
The Solution
This Toyota Prado 150 bike rack is an Extreme Duty Two Bicycle Carrier, manufactured for Amanda’s 150 Series and configured to clear the Prado’s rear mounted spare wheel. It carries two mountain bikes behind a vehicle that already works hard on weekends, roof top tent up top, camping load in the back.
The system installs on the tow bar and holds the bikes clear of the tailgate, which matters more on a Prado 150 than on most vehicles. The rear door is side hinged and carries the spare, so a carrier that blocked it would mean unloading bikes every time someone needed the fridge. Amanda’s carrier tilts away instead, and her verdict after a weekend of repeated trips to the back of the Prado was that it came with such ease she could do it herself, every time. The Two Bike Carrier is rated to 64kg and carries up to 32kg per bike. Every Prado we have installed is listed on the Prado bike rack page.
The 500mm beam on this configuration positions the bikes to clear the spare without pushing them unnecessarily far behind the vehicle, keeping the load close and the handling predictable on dirt roads. The same approach is available across our pre-configured vehicle carriers for the common 4x4s and SUVs. Every vehicle we have installed a system on starts from the tow bar bike rack range.
Every carrier is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in a textured Dulux powder coat, and every system is covered by a lifetime warranty. Towing a van as well? Our caravan bike racks are manufactured to the same standard.
