Ultimate Camper

This weld on drawbar bike rack solves a problem bolt on mounts cannot: the Ultimate camper trailer’s sculpted, curved drawbar leaves nowhere for a conventional clamp to sit. For Chris’s Ultimate we manufactured an Extreme Duty Two Bicycle Carrier with a weld on drawbar mount, fixed permanently to the trailer’s frame, plus tow bar mounts for both his Nissan Patrol and Nissan X-Trail. One carrier, three bases.

The configuration has already done a 1000 kilometre lap of Tasmania. Chris specified the carrier deliberately low, and the geometry holds all the clearances at once: the jockey wheel still swings, both rear doors of the Patrol open with the bikes loaded, and the handlebars barely rise above the roof line so low branches stay a non issue. When the camper needs opening, the carrier tilts forward for full access to both doors.

A weld on mount is the answer whenever a drawbar is curved, boxed or already crowded, and it is one of the options we quote routinely alongside the bolt on H-Mounts in our caravan bike rack range. The Two Bike Carrier, is rated to 64kg and carries up to 32kg per bike, manufactured from Australian mild steel and stainless steel with a zinc primer under textured Dulux powder coat.

Every system is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, and covered by a lifetime warranty. For the tow vehicle side, the pre-configured vehicle carriers cover everything from the X-Trail to the Patrol.
