Extreme Duty Four Bike Carrier, Drawbar Mounted, Doubling as the Isuzu D-MAX Rack

“Just thought I'd touch base and share a few pics of our travels. The bike carrier is working an absolute treat, we love it and we have had so many comments from fellow travellers. We have handed out your website to quite a few people!”

The Solution

This Jayco Expanda bike rack spends half its life as an Isuzu D-MAX bike rack, which is exactly the point. The Extreme Duty 4x4x4, manufactured by iSi, has a mount on the Expanda Outback’s drawbar and a second on the D-MAX’s tow bar, and four bikes follow this touring family wherever the day goes.

On the road, the carrier rides the drawbar with the load split roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% through the axle, and it has collected compliments from fellow travellers at every stop, enough that the owners hand out iSi’s website details around the campground. The carrier pivots upright with all four bikes loaded, and moves to the ute in minutes when the van is parked up. Every Jayco we have installed is listed on the Jayco bike rack page.
