Jayco Swan
Extreme Duty Four Bike Carrier on a Jayco Cross Mount with StrongArm Support Post, Shared with a Land Cruiser 200
“Absolutely fantastic bike rack. We can get four mountain bikes on ours, nil contact between any of them. We also purchased the hitch to go into the rear of our Landcruiser 200, so have the best bike carrying option, towing the van or not.”
The Solution
This Jayco Swan cross mount bike rack uses the mount iSi designed specifically for Jayco drawbars: the J1 Cross Mount, paired here with a StrongArm Support Post and an Extreme Duty 4x4x4 carrier. Four mountain bikes ride the Swan’s drawbar with, in the owner’s words, nil contact between any of them.
The Jayco Cross Mount spans the Swan’s drawbar rails and gives the carrier a purpose-made foundation, with the support post steadying the assembly over corrugations. The load splits roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% through the axle, and the carrier pivots upright with all four bikes loaded. A second mount in the Land Cruiser 200’s receiver means the family carries bikes with or without the van in tow. If you tow a different model, the Jayco bike rack range covers the rest of the lineup.
Capacity and fit
The Four Bike Rack Assembly, and carries up to 84kg, each cradle rated to 32kg with room for 1600mm wheelbases and 5.1 inch tyres. Four full size mountain bikes travel separated and secure.
