Austrack Talawana

This Austrack Talawana bike carrier is an Extreme Duty Compact Two Bicycle Carrier on an H bolt on drawbar mount with a StrongArm Support Post, positioned in front of the toolbox on the Talawana’s drawbar. Austrack build their hybrids for hard touring at a sharp price, and this configuration keeps the bike carrying just as practical.

The Talawana’s drawbar already carries a toolbox, stone protection and gas, so the in front of toolbox position tucks the carrier ahead of the storage where every lid still opens with both bikes loaded. The installation includes a bolt on jockey wheel arrangement so the wheel keeps its full swing clear of the carrier, and the support post carries the bike load down into the chassis rather than through the drawbar alone.

The Compact 400mm beam keeps the bikes tight to the camper with the load split roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% to the axle, and the carrier pivots upright with both bikes loaded when the camper sets up. The Two Bike Carrier is rated to 64kg at up to 32kg per bike, each held by the frame in its own cradle.

Every system is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty.
