Jayco Swan

This Jayco Swan bike carrier was reviewed from the middle of a central Australian lap, which is the best place to review one. Four bikes on an Extreme Duty 4x4x4 with an 800mm beam, manufactured by iSi, riding the Swan’s drawbar between nightly camps and swapping to the Toyota Prado when the camper stays pitched.

A camper trailer that folds out nightly makes the pivot function earn its keep. The carrier pivots upright with all four bikes still cradled, so the Swan’s wind-up roof and bed ends operate without a single bike coming off. The 800mm beam holds the load clear of the drawbar hardware, split roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% through the axle. Capacity and fit
