Toyota 4runner

This Toyota 4Runner bike carrier is the follow-up chapter to a system iSi shipped to the USA: an Extreme Duty 4x4x2 on a compact beam, mounted through a tow bar mount system and reported back on after a season of what its owner calls seriously gnarly trail.

The compact beam keeps both cradles tucked in close behind the 4Runner, holding the bikes high and dry through water crossings and clear of the dust the tyres throw up on forest roads. Each bike rides by its wheels in its own cradle, nothing touching the frame or the paint, and the carrier pivots up with both bikes loaded whenever the tailgate needs to lift on the trail. Capacity and fit

Each cradle takes up to 32kg with room for a 1600mm wheelbase and tyres to 5.1 inches. The Two Bike Rack Assembly, with a 64kg total capacity, and the whole carrier lifts off the mount between trips.

iSi has manufactured these systems in Mitcham, Victoria since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel with a zinc primed, textured Dulux powder coat finish, backed by a lifetime warranty wherever in the world they end up.
