Toyota FJ Cruiser

This Toyota FJ Cruiser bike carrier is the second FJ among iSi’s adventurers, this one running an Extreme Duty 4x4x2 on a 500mm beam through a tow bar mount system. The mid-length beam splits the difference: enough standoff to clear the FJ’s rear-mounted spare, without pushing the bikes any further back than they need to be.

Assembly and installation took an afternoon, and the system was out on the trails twice in its first week. Both bikes ride in their own cradles behind the tailgate, the load stays low over the tow bar, and the carrier pivots up with the bikes still on when the side-hinged rear door needs its full swing. Capacity and fit

Each cradle carries up to 32kg with room for a 1600mm wheelbase and tyres to 5.1 inches. The Two Bike Rack Assembly, with a 64kg total capacity, and the whole carrier lifts off between rides.
