Jayco Journey
Four Bike Rack Assembly, Adjustable H-Mount and Support Post, with Mitsubishi Tow Bar Mount
“I just wanted to say thank you for helping us out. We absolutely love it. It was easy to install, even for me, ha ha. Also I got asked about 5-6 times from others in the caravan park where could they get one from. I think you have the best product on the market and you will be busy for years to come. Thank you once again. Very happy.”
The Solution
This Jayco Journey 4 bike rack drew a crowd before it finished its first trip. Gregg counted five or six fellow travellers at the caravan park asking where to get one, which is what happens when four bikes ride a drawbar this cleanly. His Extreme Duty Four Bike Rack Assembly sits on an Adjustable H-Mount with a StrongArm Support Post over the Journey’s twin gas bottles, with a tow bar mount for the family Mitsubishi.
Gregg installed it himself and called it easy, even for me, which is the point of the bolt on design: the H-Mount clamps the drawbar without welding, the support post drops the load into the chassis, and the whole system arrives dimensioned for the van. The carrier clears the gas bottles and AL-KO coupling gear completely, keeps the weight split roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% to the axle, and pivots upright with all four bikes loaded when the pop top goes up at camp.
The 800mm beam Four Bike Carrier is rated to 84kg and holds each bike by the frame at up to 32kg, the family’s full mix from kids’ bikes to adult mountain bikes. Off the van, the same carrier moves to the Mitsubishi’s tow bar.
Every system is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty. The Journey lives with our caravan bike racks, and the tow vehicle side with the pre-configured vehicle carriers.
