Volvo XC60

This Volvo XC60 bike rack is an Extreme Duty Two Bicycle Carrier on a PBC-H vehicle mount system, configured for the XC60’s tow bar. The pairing suits the car: a family SUV built around safety and quiet competence, carrying two bikes on hardware engineered with the same priorities.

The 400mm beam keeps the bikes close behind the tailgate, each held by the frame in its own cradle, so the load stays stable at highway speed and nothing swings into the rear parking sensors’ complaints. The PBC-H mount pivots, letting the tailgate open with the carrier installed, and each cradle is rated at up to 32kg, which absorbs e-bikes as comfortably as carbon road bikes. European SUVs make up a growing share of what we configure. The tow bar geometry differs from the 4x4s that built our reputation, but the engineering brief does not: bolt up rigid, hold the bikes by the frame, protect the paint, and last as long as the car.

Every system is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty.
