MDC Bike Rack

The heart of the MDC Bike Rack is the iSi Drawbar Mount System. An easy, practical and super strong mount that bolts directly onto the MDC A-Frame. This iSi Drawbar Mount System delivers a wide and long footprint in order to spread the load across the drawbar. This is specifically engineered to eliminate pressure hot spots on the drawbar chassis rails. Thus, totally eliminating the high point loads that result from narrow welded mounts.

Through clever design, the iSi Bicycle Carrier staggers bicycles at varying heights to reduce the overall length of the system when compared to flat platform style racks. Typical clearance issues such as crank to crank and hub to hub are eliminated so the entire load is made very compact. This results in then most narrow platform suitable for all MDC drawbars while still maintaining excellent trailer articulation.

The iSi MDC Bike Rack pivots up and forward right at the nose of the carrier for the ultimate access to drawbar mounted equipment and fold out beds. In most cases, remain attached to the vehicle while the bikes are pivoted forward. The rotation crown has five stop positions to hold the carrier anywhere from vertical through to rotated all the way over. Add an optional Vehicle Mount System to swap the carrier between the trailer and the car quickly and easily. It’s great to base camp with the trailer and move the carrier to the car and explore areas that may not be appropriate to drag the trailer through.

One of the key iSi benefits is the carrier assembly and bicycle load is moved as far away from the tow ball as possible in order to move mass off the tow ball and back towards the axle. Moreover, as a rigid system, tight offset off the caravan or camper body can be maintained for the best result possible.

The position, height and rigidity of the loaded carrier can have a huge affect upon the towing dynamics as well as the handling performance of the tow vehicle. The ideal solution positions the Centre Of Mass vertically close to the trailer roll-centre and longitudinally back away from the tow ball for the lightest weight delta possible – all in a highly rigid system to keep the load in-phase with the trailer dynamics.
