Jayco Crosstrak

This Jayco Crosstrak bike rack is an Extreme Duty Four Bike Rack Assembly on an Adjustable H-Mount and StrongArm Support Post, configured for Adam’s Crosstrak with its extended drawbar, plus a tow bar mount for the family’s Isuzu MU-X. The Crosstrak is Jayco’s compact off road van, and this one carries four bikes without giving up a millimetre of its capability.

An extended drawbar changes the sums on a bike rack installation. There is more real estate to work with, but also more leverage on every kilogram, which is why this configuration pairs the Adjustable H-Mount with a StrongArm post that carries the load down into the chassis rather than letting the drawbar carry it alone. The result keeps the weight split roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% to the axle, with the carrier pivoting upright, all four bikes loaded, when the van sets up at camp. The 700mm beam Four Bike Carrier is rated to 84kg and holds each bike by the frame at up to 32kg. Off the van, the same carrier drops onto the MU-X’s tow bar mount for day trips, one system for every version of the weekend.

Every system is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty.
