Kia Carnival
Extreme Duty Four Bike Carrier, Shared with a Cub Weekender Camper
“No issues with the rack and no damage to any bikes. Have done probably 5000k with it so far. A big trip to the snow and a camping trip. It was great camping cause then I took it off the trailer and put it on the car to go for a ride with the kids. Thanks for a great product!”
The Solution
This Kia Carnival bike rack proves the family van deserves proper touring hardware too. An Extreme Duty four bike carrier, manufactured by iSi, mounts through the Carnival’s tow bar mount system and has covered around 5000km so far, from snow trips to camping weekends with a Cub Weekender in tow.
The carrier swaps between the Carnival and the camper trailer, so the bikes ride on whichever is more convenient: on the trailer for the journey to camp, then across to the car for the drive to the trailhead with the kids. Each bike sits in its own cradle, nothing touches the van’s tailgate, and the carrier pivots up loaded whenever the boot needs to open.
Capacity and fit
Each cradle carries up to 32kg with room for a 1600mm wheelbase and tyres to 5.1 inches, covering everything from kids’ bikes to adult trail bikes. The Four Bike Rack Assembly, and carries up to 84kg across its four cradles.
