Mountain Trail Camper

This Mountain Trail camper bike rack is an Extreme Duty Two Bicycle Carrier on an Adjustable H-Mount with a StrongArm Support Post, positioned in front of the toolbox on the drawbar of Paul’s MTRV camper trailer, with a tow bar mount for his Pajero Platinum. Mountain Trail build some of the most capable off road campers in the country, and the bike rack has to hold its own on the same tracks.

The in front of toolbox position is the interesting part of this configuration. An MTRV drawbar carries serious storage, so the carrier mounts ahead of the toolbox where it neither blocks the lids nor crowds the stone shield, with the StrongArm post carrying the load down into the chassis. The 600mm beam gives the bikes clearance over the drawbar hardware while the load stays split roughly 70% to the ball and 30% to the axle.

Paul’s installation note was the kind we aim for on every mail order kit: arrived, installed, perfect, one day. Bolt on components dimensioned to the trailer make that possible without a workshop visit. The Two Bike Carrier is rated to 64kg and carries up to 32kg per bike.

Every system is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty.
