FJ Cruiser

This FJ Cruiser bike carrier went from our Mitcham workshop to Shane’s driveway to fully assembled in a weekend. The Extreme Duty Two Bicycle Carrier ships with the PBC-H car mount system as a flat pack, and Shane’s feedback covered the two things every mail order buyer worries about: the freight was fast, and the assembly was easy.

That ease is deliberate. The carrier arrives as a small number of substantial steel components with clean bolt together joints, no ambiguous hardware bags, no diagrams that need a translator. On the FJ Cruiser the mount positions the carrier to clear the rear mounted spare wheel, and the side hinged rear door still swings with the system installed, which matters on a vehicle where the back door is the main event. The 500mm beam Two Bike Carrier is rated to 64kg and carries up to 32kg per bike, each bike held by the frame in its own cradle. For an FJ headed off the bitumen to explore the countryside, that rigidity is the difference between checking mirrors and checking straps.

Every system is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty.
