Lumberjack Otway

This Lumberjack Otway bike rack is a simple, effective solution that delivers strength, stability and ease of use without any changes to the camper. For Ken’s Otway we installed a Four Bike Rack Assembly on a 100% bolt on mounting system, and the existing drawbar layout allowed a clean, straightforward install with no components relocated and no modifications.

The carrier is positioned to keep the bikes low and close to the chassis, which improves towing stability, reduces movement in travel, and makes loading and unloading easier, especially with heavier bikes. Keeping the load tight to the drawbar maintains proper weight distribution, roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% to the axle, so the camper tows smoothly across sealed roads and rough tracks alike.

A key benefit is that all the Otway’s original features stay fully accessible: the jockey wheel, gas bottles and storage areas all work as normal, which makes this a genuinely practical everyday touring solution. Mounted on an H-Mount with a StrongArm Support Post, each bike rides in its own wheel support cradles, held by a frame support cradle, at up to 32kg, rated to 84kg total.

Every system is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty.
