MDC Forbes 13

This MDC Forbes 13 bike rack shows how a high capacity solution is achievable even with a shorter drawbar. For Leigh’s Forbes 13 we installed a Four Bike Rack Assembly on a 100% bolt on mounting system, carefully planned around the limited drawbar space for a clean fit that keeps the camper fully functional.

The carrier is positioned to keep the bikes low and close to the chassis, which improves towing stability and reduces movement in travel, creating a secure platform for four bikes. Despite the shorter drawbar, the installation retains full access to the front toolbox: tool free pivoting moves the rack aside whenever access is needed, keeping the configuration practical for everyday use without compromising capacity. Keeping the load compact and well balanced maintains proper weight distribution, roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% to the axle, so the system performs confidently from highways to off road tracks. Leigh’s reaction to the fit said it perfectly: even with such a short drawbar, it was like the rack was made for it. Mounted on an H-Mount with a StrongArm Support Post, each bike rides in its own wheel support cradles, held by a frame support cradle, at up to 32kg, rated to 84kg total.
