Stoney Creek Gen 3

This Stoney Creek Gen 3 four bike rack carries the whole family’s bikes on the drawbar of Alf’s Stoney Creek Gen 3, on an Adjustable H-Mount with a StrongArm Support Post.

Four bikes is where drawbar mounting earns its keep. Hung off the back of a camper, four bikes sit well behind the axle and act like a lever on everything in front of them. On the drawbar they sit forward, close to the tow ball, and the load splits roughly 70 percent onto the ball and 30 percent onto the axles. The camper tracks the way it did before the bikes went on.

The Four Bike Rack Assembly is rated to 84kg with 32kg allowed per bike, which covers a mix of trail bikes, gravel bikes and hardtails. The Adjustable H-Mount sets the height so the lower wheels clear the toolbox lid and the upper bikes clear the body, and the StrongArm Support Post carries the load down into the drawbar instead of leaving it on the mount alone.

Alf still needs to get to the gas bottles, the water taps and the front toolbox at every camp. The assembly pivots up loaded, without tools, so all four bikes stay exactly where they are while the front of the camper opens up.
