TVAN MK5

This Mitsubishi Triton bike rack does double duty on one of Australia’s most capable camper combinations: David’s Track Trailer TVan MK5 behind his Triton. The Extreme Duty Four Bike Rack Assembly rides a TVan bolt on drawbar mount with a StrongArm Support Post when the camper is hitched, and a PBC-H vehicle mount system puts the same carrier on the Triton’s tow bar when it is not.

The TVan MK5 is engineered for the country most campers avoid, and its drawbar hardware has to match. The bolt on mount is dimensioned to the MK5’s chassis without welding, the support post feeds the bike load into the frame, and the geometry keeps the weight split roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% to the axle with the TVan’s legendary articulation untouched. The carrier pivots with all four bikes loaded, so the famous rapid TVan setup stays rapid.

David’s latest report came back from the Yorke Peninsula, bikes on board the whole way. The 800mm beam Four Bike Carrier is rated to 84kg and holds each bike by the frame in its own cradle at up to 32kg.
