Wonderland RV
Four Bike Rack Assembly, H-Mount and Support Post Under the Gas Bottles, with Discovery Mount
The Solution
This Wonderland RV bike rack hangs off one of the most serious off road caravans built in Australia. Andrew’s Amaroo, Wonderland’s flagship Outback Series van, now carries an Extreme Duty Four Bike Rack Assembly on an H-Mount and support post, mounted under the gas bottles and tight against the cavernous front box.
The under gas bottle position is the connoisseur’s choice on a van like this. Keeping the carrier nice and tight to the front panel minimises the lever arm, which means the lightest possible addition to tow ball weight and no compromise to the off road articulation the Amaroo’s chassis was CAD engineered to deliver. The bikes ride protected over the front box, and the load splits roughly 70% to the ball and 30% to the axle.
When the van stays at camp, the whole carrier swaps to the back of Andrew’s Land Rover Discovery in minutes, so the family rides wherever the day takes them. The 800mm beam Four Bike Carrier is rated to 84kg and holds each bike by the frame at up to 32kg.
Every system is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty. Off road van configurations live in our caravan bike racks range, with the Discovery in the pre-configured vehicle carriers.
