Cedar Caravan

This Cedar Caravan bike rack shows a smart approach to maximising space while keeping the drawbar fully usable: a four bike carrier mounted beneath the gas bottles on our adjustable H-Mount, turning otherwise unused space into secure bike storage and spreading the load more effectively across the chassis.

Mounting beneath the gas bottles is the clever part of Craig’s installation. It distributes the weight evenly, improves stability and reduces stress on any single mounting point, which matters when carrying four bikes over long distances and varied terrain. The load sits split roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% to the axle, and tool free pivoting keeps full access to the front toolbox, moving the carrier aside quickly when needed.

Despite carrying four bikes, the system stays neat and practical, integrating cleanly with the caravan’s existing layout with no permanent modifications. Craig’s reaction summed up the result: he could not work out how a rack this strong could also be this easy to use, and called it a testament to Australian engineering. Each bike rides in its own wheel support cradles, held by a frame support cradle, at up to 32kg, rated to 84kg total.

Every system is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty.
