The Solution
This Concept Caravan Innovation bike rack shows how an efficient mounting design maximises drawbar space without compromising performance. For Simon’s Innovation we installed a two bike carrier neatly beneath the gas bottles, so there is no wasted space on the drawbar and the layout stays clean and practical.
Mounting beneath the gas bottles keeps the bikes as low as possible, and that lower carrying position does two things: it improves stability during travel, and it makes loading and unloading heavier bikes far easier, which is a real benefit for adventurers running e-bikes. Careful attention to positioning maintained full trailer articulation, so the van and tow vehicle move freely through tight turns and uneven terrain.
The 100% bolt on system integrates seamlessly with the caravan’s chassis while preserving access to the key drawbar components, on an H-Mount with a StrongArm Support Post. Simon’s response captured why it mattered to him: the solution he had been searching for, a breath of fresh air to see local Aussie manufacturing, and the confidence to finally take his good bikes travelling. Each bike rides in its own wheel support cradles, held by a frame support cradle, at up to 32kg, rated to 64kg total.
Every system is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty.
