Extreme Duty Four Bike Carrier on the Standard Drawbar, Jayco Cross Mount with StrongArm Support Post

“Super strong. Doesn't need extended draw bar. 4 bikes. I've also got the hitch for my car.”

Andrew

The Solution

This Jayco Expanda standard drawbar bike rack answers a question the sales team hears from Jayco owners weekly: do four bikes need the extended drawbar option? Not here. An Extreme Duty 4x4x4 on a J2 Cross Mount with a StrongArm Support Post, manufactured by iSi, carries all four on the Expanda Outback’s standard drawbar.

The Cross Mount is what makes the standard drawbar workable, spanning the rails and positioning the carrier so the boot lid and gas bottles keep their clearance. The load splits roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% through the axle, and the carrier pivots upright with all four bikes loaded. A hitch mount in the Land Rover Discovery takes the same carrier when the van stays home. For other models in the lineup, see our Jayco bike rack range.
