Nissan GU Patrol

This Nissan GU Patrol bike rack was configured for two bikes using an Extreme Duty Extended carrier at 600mm, manufactured by iSi and mounted through a tow bar mount system. The complete system bolts to the Patrol without a single modification to the vehicle.

A GU Patrol usually wears its spare on the rear door, and that is exactly what the extended carrier is for. The 600mm length holds both bikes clear of the spare and the rear glass while keeping the load low over the tow bar, where it has the least effect on how the Patrol drives. Whenever the back of the wagon needs to open, the carrier pivots up with both bikes still in their cradles. The same system is manufactured for other vehicles across our vehicle bike racks range.

Capacity and fit

Each cradle is rated to 32kg and takes a wheelbase up to 1600mm with tyres up to 5.1 inches wide, so the system handles heavy touring bikes and modern mountain bikes alike. The same carrier can also move to another vehicle later, wherever a matching tow bar mount is installed.
