Land Rover Defender

This Land Rover Defender bike carrier is an Extreme Duty Two Bicycle Carrier, manufactured for Erin’s Defender 110 pop top tourer and configured to work alongside a Ridjidij spare wheel carrier. It is a bike rack for a vehicle that already works hard, with a canoe on the roof and a camper conversion behind the cab, so the carrier had to earn its place.

The system installs on the tow bar and carries two bikes at 32kg per bike, with the Two Bike Carrier rated to 64kg. Because the Defender runs a rear mounted spare on the Ridjidij carrier, our sales team adjusted the spare tyre position during installation so the two systems work together rather than fighting for the same space. Erin proved the configuration in the Victorian High Country the first weekend it was installed, and the Defender has since carried its bikes into outback Queensland. Every system is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in a textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty.
