Land Rover Discovery 4

This Land Rover Discovery 4 tow bar bike rack runs both of iSi’s Extreme Duty configurations: the 4x4x2 two bike carrier for everyday riding, and a 4x4x4 expansion pack that takes the same system to four bikes when the whole crew is coming. Everything mounts through one tow bar mount system, manufactured by iSi and bolted on without touching the Discovery.

Because the expansion pack builds on the original beam and mount, swapping between two and four bike duty takes minutes rather than a second rack. In either form the load rides low over the tow bar, the bikes sit in individual cradles clear of the paintwork, and the carrier pivots up fully loaded whenever the tailgate needs to rise. Capacity and fit

The two bike assembly, with a 64kg capacity; expanded, the system carries up to 84kg across four cradles. Every position takes a 1600mm wheelbase, tyres to 5.1 inches and 32kg of bike.

iSi has manufactured each of these components in Mitcham, Victoria since 2007, in Australian mild steel and stainless steel with a zinc primed, textured Dulux powder coat finish, and a lifetime warranty across the system.
