Kimberly Karavan

This Kimberley Karavan bike rack is an off road two bike configuration manufactured by iSi specifically to suit the Kimberley Karavan, one of Australia’s most capable off road vans. The carrier mounts over the drawbar with a StrongArm Support Post and bolts on without modifying the van.

A Kimberley spends its life on corrugations, so the carrier keeps both bikes low and central over the drawbar where the movement is smallest. The load splits roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% through the axle, preserving the van’s off road balance, and the carrier pivots upright with both bikes loaded so the stone shield, gas bottles and jockey wheel stay reachable at camp.

Capacity and fit

Each cradle carries up to 32kg and accepts wheelbases to 1600mm and tyres to 5.1 inches, from town bikes like the pair photographed to full size mountain bikes. The complete system is rated for off road touring, not just the bitumen between towns.
