Ultimate Camper
Two Bike Rack Assembly on a PBW Fabricator's Pivot Base, Welded to the Drawbar
The Solution
This Ultimate off road camper bike rack is Ken’s solution to the same problem every Ultimate owner faces: a beautifully sculpted, curved drawbar with nowhere for a conventional clamp to grip. His Extreme Duty Two Bicycle Carrier rides on a PBW Fabricator’s Pivot Base, a component we supply specifically for installations like this one, welded into the trailer’s frame by a fabricator and finished to look factory.
The Fabricator’s Pivot Base is the weld on answer with movement built in. Once it is fused to the drawbar, the carrier keeps its full pivot function, swinging the loaded bikes clear whenever the camper’s storage or configuration needs the room. It is the option we recommend when a trailer’s geometry rules out our bolt on H-Mounts but the owner still wants everything a pivoting iSi system does.
The 500mm beam Two Bike Carrier is rated to 64kg and carries up to 32kg per bike, each held by the frame in its own cradle, with the drawbar position keeping the load split roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% to the axle. This is the third Ultimate camper we have configured for, and the brand’s curved drawbar no longer holds any surprises.
Every system is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty. Weld on and bolt on options are covered across our caravan bike racks, with vehicle systems in the pre-configured vehicle carriers.
