Goldstream RV

This Goldstream RV bike rack carries four bikes on the drawbar of a Goldstream Vacationer RL camper, using a 4x4x4 off road carrier on a 700mm beam manufactured by iSi. A second mount on the family’s Mazda BT-50 means the same carrier swaps across to the ute when the van stays put.

With four bikes aboard, drawbar mounting keeps the load where the van carries it best: roughly 70% through the tow ball and 30% through the axle, low and central so the Goldstream tows the same way it does unloaded. The carrier pivots upright with all four bikes still in their cradles, which keeps the boot of the ute and the front of the van accessible at every stop, and a stone shield below protects the bikes from whatever the tyres throw up.

Capacity and fit

The Four Bike Rack Assembly, and carries up to 84kg, each cradle rated to 32kg with room for a 1600mm wheelbase and 5.1 inch tyres. Four family bikes, from the kids’ 20 inch wheels to full size mountain bikes, travel together in their own cradles.
