Toyota Tacoma

This Toyota Tacoma bike carrier reached its owner in the USA four days after leaving the Mitcham factory, and was installed the same week. It is an Extreme Duty 4x4x2 on a 400mm compact beam, mounted through a tow bar mount system, and it is the third Tacoma to join iSi’s adventurers.

The compact beam suits the Tacoma’s clean tray-back shape, keeping both cradles close under the tailgate line with the load directly over the tow bar. Installation is deliberately simple: the mount bolts to the receiver, the carrier drops onto the mount, and the bikes drop into their cradles. The carrier pivots up with both bikes loaded whenever the tailgate needs to drop. Owners of other vehicles can start with the full tow bar bike rack range.

Capacity and fit

Each cradle carries up to 32kg and accepts a 1600mm wheelbase with tyres to 5.1 inches. The Two Bike Rack Assembly, with 64kg of capacity, and lifts off the mount in seconds when the truck needs its hitch.

iSi has manufactured and shipped these systems from Mitcham, Victoria since 2007, in Australian mild steel and stainless steel with a zinc primed, textured Dulux powder coat finish and a lifetime warranty. International freight is faster than most adventurers expect, as this delivery shows; the pre-configured vehicle carriers are the place to start.
