Toyota 4runner

This Toyota 4Runner bike rack crossed the Pacific before it carried a single bike. Configured as an Extreme Duty 4x4x2 two bike system and manufactured by iSi in Victoria, it was shipped to the USA and installed on a 4Runner through a tow bar mount system.

The 4Runner’s tailgate glass and rear hatch stay usable because the carrier pivots up with both bikes loaded, and the low mounting position over the tow bar keeps the weight where the vehicle handles it best. Nothing bolts to the body and nothing touches the paint, so the whole system comes off cleanly whenever the hitch is needed for towing. Capacity and fit

Each cradle carries up to 32kg with room for wheelbases to 1600mm and tyres up to 5.1 inches, which swallows American trail bikes without adaptors. The Two Bike Rack Assembly, and carries a total of 64kg.
