Land Rover Discovery

This Land Rover Discovery bike rack is an Extreme Duty off road configuration manufactured by iSi, carrying two bikes on a compact beam through a tow bar mount system. It spends its weekends doing exactly what the photo shows: hauling muddy mountain bikes to race starts and trailheads.

The compact beam keeps both cradles tight behind the Discovery, with the load carried low over the tow bar where it barely registers in the way the vehicle drives. Because the carrier pivots up with the bikes still loaded, the tailgate stays usable mid trip, and the whole system lifts off the mount when the Discovery goes back to daily duties. Capacity and fit

Off road spec means the carrier is rated for corrugations and rough access tracks, not just bitumen. Each cradle carries up to 32kg with room for a 1600mm wheelbase and tyres to 5.1 inches, so long travel mountain bikes fit without a second thought, mud and all.
