Nissan X-Terra

This Nissan X-Terra bike rack was ordered on a Monday night and bolted on by Thursday, on the east coast of the United States. It is an Extreme Duty 4x4x2 on a 600mm beam, manufactured by iSi in Victoria and mounted through the X-Terra’s tow bar mount system the same evening it arrived.

The first load was a pair of mountain bikes headed straight for the hills, each in its own cradle with nothing clamped to the frames. The 600mm beam gives the bikes room behind the X-Terra’s rear hatch, the load rides low over the receiver, and the carrier pivots up with both bikes on whenever the hatch needs to lift. Capacity and fit

Each cradle carries up to 32kg with room for a 1600mm wheelbase and tyres to 5.1 inches, which is why a carbon Yeti and a hardtail can share the rack without either being compromised. The Two Bike Rack Assembly, with 64kg of total capacity.
