Toyota Land Cruiser 76 Series

This Land Cruiser 76 Series bike carrier went to work for a cause: the Gibb Challenge, a 660km mountain bike ride along the Gibb River Road raising funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Getting there and back meant a 6500km round trip with the bikes on an Extreme Duty 4x4x2, manufactured by iSi and mounted on the Cruiser’s tow bar mount system.

The Gibb is one of the roughest regularly driven roads in the country, and a support vehicle on the Challenge covers it day after day with bikes aboard. The 600mm beam holds both bikes clear of the 76’s rear-mounted spare, the cradles isolate them from the corrugations, and the carrier pivots up loaded whenever the barn doors need to open. Capacity and fit
