Jayco Journey Outback
Two Bike Rack Assembly, H-Mount and Support Post, Low-Mounted for Easy Loading
“Installed it over the weekend and it has made loading and unloading the bikes a breeze. Instructions made it easy to put together. Thank you for making a brilliant rack!”
The Solution
This Jayco Journey Outback 2 bike rack highlights how a well positioned solution improves both usability and performance. For Barry’s Journey Outback we installed a two bike carrier on a 100% bolt on mounting system that integrates neatly with the drawbar, requiring no modifications while keeping the caravan fully functional.
The carrier is positioned as low as possible relative to the drawbar, and that lower carrying height makes a noticeable difference loading and unloading, especially for heavier bikes such as e-bikes. Keeping the bikes low and close to the chassis also improves towing stability and reduces movement in travel, splitting the load roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% to the axle, a secure platform on sealed roads and off road alike. The rest of the range is covered on our Jayco bike racks page.
Barry installed it himself over a weekend and reported that it made loading a breeze and the instructions made assembly easy. Mounted on an H-Mount with a StrongArm Support Post, each bike rides in its own wheel support cradles, held by a frame support cradle, at up to 32kg, rated to 64kg total.
Every system is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty. See the full range in our caravan bike racks, with tow vehicles in the pre-configured vehicle carriers.
