The Solution

The MDC XL15 is a capable off-road camper, and this build shows how a precise, practical two-bike carrier can be added to its drawbar without touching everyday usability. The whole configuration integrates neatly with the existing layout and delivers a strong, reliable platform for the bikes.

For this configuration we installed a two-bike rack to the MDC XL15 using a 100% bolt-on mounting system, so there is no drilling or welding to the chassis. The design drops straight into the available drawbar space and requires no modifications to the camper. Other MDC owners can start with the full MDC bike rack range.

The carrier holds the bikes low and close to the chassis, which keeps the centre of gravity down and improves towing stability. Movement is minimised, so the load stays secure and composed across both highway runs and rougher off-road tracks.

Careful placement means the key components stay clear. The jockey wheel, gas bottles and front storage areas all remain fully accessible, so the camper keeps its everyday usability while carrying bikes. The platform takes up to two bikes at 32kg per bike, tied back to the drawbar through an adjustable H-Mount and a StrongArm support post for a rock-solid base.

The finished result is a precise, durable MDC XL15 two-bike rack, a simple, effective and space-efficient way to carry two bikes without compromising performance or convenience.
