Toyota Prado 250 Series
Two bike rack assembly · Tow bar mount system
“Thank you for the prompt service.”
The Solution
This Prado 250 Series bike rack was configured for AJ, carrying his road bike off the tow bar of the new generation Toyota Prado without touching the tailgate or the rear glass.
The 250 Series changed enough at the back that older Prado carriers do not simply transfer across. The rear bar, the tow bar geometry and the tailgate swing are all different to the 150. We manufactured a Tow Bar Mount System that bolts to the tow bar and sits the load in close, then installed a Two Bike Rack Assembly on it. The same system suits other models in the Prado lineup, shown on our Prado bike rack page.
The two bike assembly is rated to 64kg with 32kg allowed per bike, so it will carry a road bike and a full suspension trail bike together without complaint. The wheel trays and the upper support hold each bike at the wheels and the frame, so lightweight carbon frames and dropped bars sit securely without anything bearing on the paint. For other makes and models, see our vehicle bike rack range.
Every carrier is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, and we have been building them since 2007. If you are working out what suits your vehicle, our pre-configured vehicle carriers cover most common 4x4s and wagons, and the sales team can confirm the right mount system for a 250 Series.
