Jayco Expanda
Four Bike Rack Assembly with Pivot Base, Jayco Bolt-On Drawbar Mount, Hilux and Everest Tow Bar Mounts
“We did a week travel with our iSi bike rack. One word mate: amazing. We had no trouble at all with movement or wobble when travelling. Thank you for the experience in dealing with your company. I will be highly recommending you to everyone I speak to.”
The Solution
This Ford Everest bike rack is the most travelled member of a three vehicle family. Dean’s Extreme Duty Four Bike Rack Assembly runs a pivot base and a Jayco bolt on drawbar mount on the family’s Expanda, plus tow bar mounts for both the Ford Everest and the Toyota Hilux, so four bikes follow whichever vehicle is doing the trip.
Dean’s report after the first week away goes to the heart of what separates a rigid carrier from the rest: no movement, no wobble, the whole trip. That stability comes from the wheel and frame support cradle design and a mount system that bolts up tight rather than hanging off a hitch tongue. The pivot base adds the practical part, letting the loaded carrier swing so the Expanda’s front boot and bed end stay reachable at camp. The same system is manufactured for other models across our Jayco bike racks range.
The 700mm beam Four Bike Carrier is rated to 84kg and carries up to 32kg per bike. On the Expanda the drawbar mount keeps the weight split roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% to the axle, exactly where a camper carries it best.
Every system is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty. The Everest and Hilux mounts come from our pre-configured vehicle carriers, and the Expanda options live with the caravan bike racks.
