Camprite Camper Trailer
Four Bike Rack Assembly, Weld-On Drawbar Mount and Prado 150 Tow Bar Mount
“It's taken a while but I've finally got around to getting some fabrication done on the camper trailer. And I think it looks great.”
The Solution
This Camprite bike rack is an Extreme Duty Four Bike Rack Assembly, manufactured for Ian’s Camprite camper trailer and his Toyota Prado 150. Camprite build their off road campers tough in Western Australia, and the drawbar on Ian’s needed a mount to match, so this configuration uses a weld on drawbar mount fabricated permanently into the trailer’s frame.
Ian had the fabrication done locally and sent through the result: four bikes standing upright over the drawbar’s stone shield and jerry can holders, with the family fleet from kids’ bikes to adult mountain bikes each in its own wheel support cradles, held by a frame support cradle. A weld on mount suits drawbars where a bolt on clamp has no clean landing, and it turns the carrier into a factory looking part of the trailer rather than an accessory. We install the same carrier on other Prado models, and the Prado bike racks range has the details.
The 800mm beam Four Bike Carrier is rated to 84kg and carries up to 32kg per bike. When the camper stays home, the same carrier moves to the tow bar mount on the Prado 150, one system covering the whole family’s travel.
Every carrier is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty. Weld on and bolt on drawbar options are covered in our caravan bike racks range, with the Prado handled by the pre-configured vehicle carriers.
