Chopped 200 Series

This Land Cruiser 200 ute bike rack hangs off one of the more serious builds we have configured for: Daniel’s chopped 200 Series ute conversion, the shop truck for Brisbane mountain bike outfit ForTheRiders. A ute conversion adds a tray that overhangs the rear axle, which is exactly the geometry that defeats a standard length carrier, so this one runs an Extreme Duty Two Bicycle Carrier on a 700mm extended beam.

The extended beam stands the cradles far enough back to clear the tray overhang completely, while the mount keeps the whole assembly rigid on the tow bar. The result, in Daniel’s words, is that the bikes go anywhere the 4×4 goes and arrive in one piece, which for a business that lives and breathes mountain bikes is not a small claim. Each bike is held by the frame in its own cradle, rated at up to 32kg per bike with a 64kg total capacity. Our LandCruiser bike racks page covers the rest of the LandCruiser range.

Every carrier is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as they have been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty.
