Jayco Swan

This Jayco Swan 4 bike rack took a different road to four bike capacity than most. It began as an Extreme Duty 4x4x2 two bike carrier, and a 4x4x4 expansion pack later doubled it, with the finished system moving between a Jayco Swan Outback camper and the Land Rover Discovery that tows it.

On the Swan’s drawbar the four bikes ride where the camper carries load best, splitting roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% through the axle so the pop-top tows flat and predictable. The carrier pivots upright with all four bikes still cradled, keeping the drawbar’s boot lid and jockey wheel within reach at camp, and the same hardware bolts to the Discovery’s tow bar mount when the Swan stays home. Why start with two

Buying the two bike carrier first and expanding later spreads the cost across seasons, and nothing is wasted: the original beam, cradles and mount all carry over. Every cradle is rated to 32kg with room for 1600mm wheelbases and 5.1 inch tyres, up to 84kg across the expanded system.
