Toyota Land Cruiser 79 Series

This Land Cruiser 79 Series bike rack was installed by the iSi team themselves, at the Melbourne Leisurefest show, on a 79 Series wearing a Jacksons Carry Me Camper on the tray. It is an Extreme Duty 4x4x2 on a 600mm beam, mounted through a tow bar mount system beneath the camper’s overhang.

A slide-on camper turns the back of a ute into a wall, which is why the 600mm beam matters here: it carries both bikes rearward of the camper’s body with clearance to spare. The bikes ride low behind the tray, each in its own cradle, and the carrier pivots up with the bikes loaded whenever access under the camper is needed.

Capacity and fit

Each cradle takes up to 32kg with room for a 1600mm wheelbase and tyres to 5.1 inches. The Two Bike Rack Assembly, with a 64kg total capacity, well within what a 79 Series tow bar carries without noticing.
