Royal Flair

Extreme Duty Four Bike Carrier, Drawbar Mounted, Shared with a Land Cruiser 200

The Solution

This Royal Flair bike rack carries four bikes on the drawbar of a Melbourne-made van, with a second mount on the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 that tows it. The Extreme Duty 4x4x4 carrier, manufactured by iSi in Mitcham, moves between the two so the bikes ride wherever the day’s plan needs them.

On the Royal Flair’s drawbar, the carrier splits the load the way a touring van carries it best: roughly 70% through the tow ball and 30% through the axle, everything low and centred ahead of the van’s front boot. The carrier pivots upright with all four bikes still cradled, keeping the jockey wheel and coupling accessible at every overnight stop, and swaps to the Cruiser’s tow bar in minutes for trips without the van. We install the same carrier on other LandCruiser models, and the LandCruiser bike racks range has the details.
