Jayco Expanda

Extreme Duty Four Bike Carrier, Drawbar Mounted, Shared with an Isuzu D-MAX

“ISI 4 bike carrier, totally worth it. After months of research, couldn't find a better option.”

The Solution

This Jayco Expanda bike carrier was the product of months of comparison shopping, and the verdict landed on an Extreme Duty 4x4x4 manufactured by iSi. It carries four bikes between an Expanda Outback and the Isuzu D-MAX that tows it, with a mount installed on each.

Research-driven buyers tend to end up here for the same reasons: individual wheel cradles instead of frame contact, a drawbar position that splits the load roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% through the axle, and a carrier that pivots upright with all four bikes still loaded. On the D-MAX, the same carrier drops onto the tow bar mount for trips without the van. If you tow a different model, the Jayco bike rack range covers the rest of the lineup.

Capacity and fit

The Four Bike Rack Assembly, and carries up to 84kg, with each cradle rated to 32kg and sized for 1600mm wheelbases and 5.1 inch tyres. Four bikes, four cradles, nothing resting on the van or the ute.

iSi has manufactured every caravan bike rack in Mitcham, Victoria since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel with a zinc primed, textured Dulux powder coat finish, and each one carries a lifetime warranty.
