Jayco Expanda

Extreme Duty Four Bike Carrier, Extended 800mm Beam, Shared with a Mitsubishi Pajero

“iSi rack. We are very happy.”

The Solution

This Jayco Expanda extended bike rack runs the longest beam in the four bike range: an Extreme Duty 4x4x4 on an 800mm extended beam, manufactured by iSi and shared between an Expanda Outback and the Mitsubishi Pajero that tows it.

The 800mm beam earns its place where drawbar hardware crowds the mounting area. The extra length carries all four bikes clear of the Expanda’s boot, gas bottles and handbrake, while the load still rides the drawbar correctly, roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% through the axle. The carrier pivots upright with the bikes loaded at camp, and moves across to the Pajero’s tow bar mount for day trips.

Capacity and fit

The Four Bike Rack Assembly carries up to 84kg across four cradles, each rated to 32kg with room for a 1600mm wheelbase and tyres to 5.1 inches. Four bikes travel in their own cradles, clear of the van and each other.

iSi has manufactured every caravan bike rack in Mitcham, Victoria since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel with a zinc primed, textured Dulux powder coat finish, and a lifetime warranty across the range. The sales team matches beam lengths to drawbar layouts every week; send them a photo of yours.
