Jayco Expanda Touring

This Jayco Expanda Touring bike rack is an Extreme Duty Four Bike Rack Assembly, manufactured for Graham’s Expanda Touring and his Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. The carrier rides on the camper’s drawbar when the van is in tow, and moves across to the Prado’s tow bar when it is not, one system covering both.

The drawbar position keeps the load exactly where a camper trailer carries weight best, splitting roughly 70% to the tow ball and 30% to the axle, and the mount clears the gas bottle, spare wheel and jockey wheel that already live on an Expanda’s drawbar. The carrier pivots upright with all four bikes still loaded, so overnight stops do not start with an unloading session. With the 800mm beam this configuration takes the family’s full mix, from a wicker basket cruiser to a mountain bike, rated at 32kg per bike and 84kg total. Everything is manufactured in Mitcham, Victoria, as it has been since 2007, from Australian mild steel and stainless steel, zinc primed and finished in a textured Dulux powder coat, and covered by a lifetime warranty.
